Episode 34: Region Spotlight - Scotland PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 02 September 2007
In our Region Spotlight,  we take a look at a particular region of the world and sample beers from that area.  This week, we chose Scotland.  Scotland has a rich brewing history and is known for producing some incredible beers.  Often, Scottish Ales (you might recognize the "shilling" designation on some of them) have a nice smoky note to them due to the yeast and water characteristics of the area.  Although Scottish Ales are one great aspect of Scotland's beer offering, this region also turns out some other excellent styles.  Call into the show with your questions and comments: 206-350-8883.

Sampled this episode:  Belhaven Twisted Thistle, Orkney Dark Island, and Broughton Black Douglas.
